Hi!

Glad you stopped by

Hi! I'm Ramin.

I like to learn about different disciplines to solve problems creatively.

About Me

I'm a student at the University of Calgary. I enjoy bringing together knowledge from different disciplines to tackle complex challenges.

In the past, I've worked as a Software Developer in the RBC Amplify program, and on the iGEM Calgary Team as an undergraduate researcher. My experiences span from creating lively user interfaces through web and game development, to understanding biological systems through data science and machine learning.

In my free time I read manga, fall off my penny board, and dream up vacation plans that I'll never bring to life.

Birnam Wood

Assess how fast a protein does its jobs can be a complex task. Birnam wood, a random forest machine learning model, gives researchers a simplified method of assessing protein reaction rates.

EFHE

Understanding what protein structures do can be challenging, which is where EFHE comes in, an artificial neural network which takes in protein sequences and identifies which parts are capable of binding ions.
